Charles LEMANCEAU (1905-1980)

Sculpteur et designer français né à Paris, en 1905.

Après avoir reçu le premier prix de lécole Estienne, Boulle et de lécole des arts appliqués.

Il est admis à lEcole des Arts Appliqués, et aux Arts décoratifs de Paris.

Il ouvre son propre atelier de céramique à Paris en 1928

et se lie damitié avec le sculpteur Paul Belmondo.

En 1927, il expose au Salon dAutomne, ces œuvres seront éditées par "Robj"

Il a travaillé pour "Primavera" (Ateliers dArt du Printemps),

pour "Pomode" (Ateliers dArt du Bon Marché) et pour Maurice Dufrène

"La Maîtrise" (Atelier dArt des Galeries Lafayette)

pour Louis Lourioux à Foëcy (Vierzon) et ainsi de suite..

Il réalise de nombreuses sculptures animalières pour

la manufacture "Saint-Clément" et "Sainte-Radegonde"

Charles Lemanceau est une figure emblématique de lArt-Déco français,

sculptures animalières "glaçure craquelée" Il deviendra professeur en 1943,

à lécole de la Chambre de Commerce et dIndustrie de Paris.

Imposant et superbe perroquet en faïence craquelée de couleur ivoire.
